A quiet livestock farm situated where the three counties of Shropshire, Herefordshire and Powys meet. We offer quality self-catering accommodation with disabled facilities, an indoor swimming pool, games room, BBQ Cabins and children’s play area
Don’t you just love it when the first signs of spring appear!
Our snowdrop carpet expands year on year – there are patches of snow drops all over the farm. Seeds dropped by birds which eventually make the tiny bulbs that will then spread to create mini carpets of white in unexpected places.
Nature left to its own devices paints a marvellous canvas!
Covid-19 has been with us for so long it has become a way of life to keep your distance from everyone and in some cases lead a hermitic life. Slowly now we see a return to people getting out and about again to meet up with family and friends.
Whilst we have not been able to have guests here we have been busy and built two BBQ cabins.
The smaller cabin in the garden of Rose Cottage is perfect for indoor BBQing all year round – so no worrying about the weather forecast during your stay!
Our larger cabin has a BBQ and also a DIY bar area complete with bar fridge, glasses, crockery and cutlery. This cabin will seat everyone from both properties and has a fenced outside sitting area. It is located a short walk/drive away from the Pool Barn enjoying views of Harley’s Mountain.
Everyone must be feeling the same – when will this pandemic end.
We are very lucky that we have been able to find jobs to do on the farm and in the properties to keep us busy when we cannot have guests.
The BBQ cabins were always planned for this year. So, like the pandemic we too are in the second wave with the building of the mega sized cabin!
When we are able to have large groups come to stay here they can enjoy BBQing inside whatever the weather.
And…. to add to the atmosphere we have created a bar area (with beer fridge!) so you can bring your own drinks and enjoy a “pub” like meeting place on the farm. If you don’t want to cook on the BBQ you can just enjoy the charcoals burning like an indoor fire-pit and warm your toes with a glass of your favourite tipple.
We have some dog proof fencing to put up and then 42,000litres of bark to spread around the hut too – so a bit to do but we are getting there!
Arctic Cabins’ Tod and Jamie fitted this great BBQ cabin in the garden of Rose Cottage. It will provide a year round indoor BBQ facility for guests staying in Rose Cottage – so whatever the weather BBQ’s can be on the menu!
All that remains is for me to varnish the floor and the electric to be laid on for the lights and it will be ready to go for the summer.
So we have everything crossed that the Government will lift the English Covid restrictions in July and we will be able to welcome guests once more!
